Open Thread: Game Six - A's at Tampa Bay

The A's and Rich "I throw it pretty" Harden takes on Dewon Brazelton and the Devil Rays.

Many of the A's hitters saw Brazelton last year, so it isn't one of those unknown quantities they haven't faced before.

The lineups look like this:

The A's:

Kotsay
Kendall
Chavez
Durazo
Hatteberg
Byrnes
Ginter
Swisher
Scutaro

Swisher and Scutaro both get back in the lineup after the A's had a dreadful offensive performance yesterday.

The Rays send out this lineup:

Crawford
Green
Huff
Lugo
Cantu
Lee
Phelps
Hall
Gathright

By the way, yesterday must've just been a bad karma day for being a lefty in the A's organization.  Dan Meyer also got pounded in Sacramento.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!

Owns the A's!  AN needs to be prepared for a low scoring game by our Oakland Athletics.

Happy thoughts! Happy thoughts!
I say Harden goes 7 shutout innings, the offense scores 6-7 runs and the bullpen is (once again) lights out and sanity is restored to game day message threads on AN.

.500 road trip
A .500 road trip is fine right now.  We can make up lost time when we play Cleveland, Boston or Interleague.

Last year the A's were 6-4 after ten games and that was before Rhodes and the bullpen collapsed.  No reason we can't be 6-4 this year after 10 games.

re Dan Meyer last night
After seeing him in Arizona, comparing his velocity to the scouting reports, and hearing he got hit hard in AAA yesterday, I keep waiting for him to go on the shelf with arm or shoulder pain. Hope not, but keep waiting.

Brazelton was on the ropes last inning, let's knock him out of the game this time! (and by "let's" I mean the A's hitters of course. I'm not suggesting that someone from AN go to Tampa and take him out of the game themselves. No sir. Not suggesting that at all.)
