BILLY BEANE ON JIM ROME RADIO

I'm sure there are a few clones on this page, so for those who are anti-clone you should turn on Jim Rome Radio for the 3rd Hour, aka, 11:00 AM - Noon (PST).  Billy Beane and Jime Rome will be conducting an interview sometime during this hour.

This is the Official Thread to discuss the interview.  Should be interesting to hear if his thoughts/words change with regards to the Huddy/Mulder trades, or will it be the same 'ole story.

Nonetheless, a little Jungle Karma could go a long way.

I wonder if he'll mention AN.
For some reason, i hvae a feeling he will.
Kielty, rejuvenated by his new genetically created St.Pats Day/Oktoberfest, shows us why Billy and Ohad are geniuses.

I was hoping he would
but he just mentioned the "fans" were more understanding of the trades than the media.

Listen to ROME on the internet
Sounds like Billy will be at the top of the hour.

For those who don't have AM radios at work, you can listen to the ROME show for free at http://www.kall700.com/main.html

For sure
Jungle Karma can go along way. Although it did not help Lorenzo Romar yesterday.

Big Mac
Well I don't want to get off on a tangent, but Billy... Come on... Just from Mac's testimony... It is hard not to draw some conclusions.

Stong Interview
Zito: Atlanta and St. Louis wanted Hudson/Mulder, Barry has never been injured, is the one with the Cy Young. Ready to be number 1

Concern: Harden being in the 2 hole. Just because of how fast he has moved through the organization.

Fans: Supporting the team more then the pundits.

McGwire: Dodge ball
JG: Dodge ball

Dykstra: Neatest roomate he ever had in the minors. Strange but true. Even used fabric softner.

Music: Punk, was friends with Joey Ramone

Overall, he really did not say much about the team, the spring, or the players we got for the trades. Allot of rehash for those who listen to him regurally.

which is why I thought it was a weak interview.

For us...
You have to weigh it. For those who follow every move of his, it was weak. But Rome is national, and most of the clones are not following every move by the guy, and he showed why we love him. Besides dodging the Big Mac and JG questions, he was a good interview, all over the map. I hate guys that go on the radio to talk about one thing and one thing only. Including Dykstra and Punk...fun stuff.

Dodge Ball
More on Giambi than McGwire... for Mac it was just, when they were teammates, he didn't see anything personally to make him suspicious. That seemed pretty fair to me. The Giambi answer, a rambling discourse on how much bigger athletes are these days, now that was an evasion.

amazing
Except for the Dykstra comment any regular reader of AN knows all of that stuff.

Thanks for the debrief, rook. I missed the interview itself, but looks like I didn't miss much.

Billy Beane's a Punk Rocker
Clash in junior high...  a couple of Sex Pistols' concerts.  And, his daughter likes punk, too.  Wonder if he ever goes to Sugar Daddy's with BZ?
