Moneybutt 2 Winding Down + Open Thread

(1) I'll leave up Hinderlord Smackdown through Monday, so people who want to spice up their workday can do so. Almost at 35,000 votes in two and a half days. The original thread is here.

(2) Current leaders are Huston Street with a commanding lead and, in the female category, Holly Johnson, wife of Dan Johnson, by a hair over the combined forces of Alex Chavez and Jamie Kotsay. Least popular: Mike Scioscia, with a big lead over K-Rod, who along with Bonds, The Gambler, Derek Lowe and John Lackey are considered by AN to be worse than Charles Manson.

(3) Current vote leaders are

Chavinator (Major Metallic Copper Butt)
whiteshoes40 (Ass DemiGod)
angushanger (Ass DemiGod)
nimvee (Ass DemiGod)
charlie (Ghidhra of the Three Asses)
Trevor (Asszilla)

All have registered way more votes than you care to hear about.

(4) There is a new feature that analyzes how similar your votes were to the votes of others, and which players you disagreed on the most. In my case, I seem to like Peter Gammons a lot more than most people and seem to loathe Jack Wilson more than most.

(5) I'm thinking about what to do for the next time around. It's pretty amusing to do this, but I'd like to try different entities. This could be a regular 'first weekend of the month' deal, or maybe more often. Any ideas?

Ideas: (1) actors/actresses/directors/movies, (2) free for all, most attractive entities, (3) uh, that's all I've got right now.

certainly we could do a special no-A's edition. We could do movies, sure... we could do whatever we want. It will be more fun if there are pictures of the entity (still shots? posters sound good).

JLaff: you don't want to know how much clicking there was. I will say that if you had doubled the number of clicks you made, you would not have made the Top 6 list above, though I believe you would have made Asszilla. You can be comforted that you have almost twice as many clicks as I do. :)

Ok, I'm a little scared

when I realize how many times I actually voted. And this is my first time on AN today because I've been running around with my head cut off. What can I say, it was a cold-medicine-and-Moneybutt-filled weekend. I'd just vote 100 times till I got to the next ranking, and then somehow kept going, and going, until I was scared I'd be the top spot and really freak myself out...

I am sorry for any damage I have caused to your body or social ties.

As the game writer, I am very pleased to see some people have gotten unhealthily involved. I have three times had to add a bunch of voting categories when people reached the supposedly unreachable last level.

I am torn between having the next round be just movies and making it a free for all for hot entities of all sexes and types. On the one hand, the first would be more interesting for me. On the other, the second would be more pleasant to look at.

Must think about it more. I am thinking of including a mechanism where people can directly submit an entity with a URL, so I can avoid massive data entry.

Also: I realized the issue with movie comparison, etc. which is that people won't have seen many of the movies. Moneybutt really works when people can make a quick visual comparison of objects, so even if they've never heard of Jack Wilson, they can make a superficial assessment.

So if I do it again, it will probably be a free-for-all competition on attractiveness...

very interesting data seems to be emerging, though, once you look past the huston/harden/zito triumvirate of female attention-getters at the top. the highest ranked female, highest former player, highest player from another team, and highest non-player, and highest non-baseball related person are all kind of intriguing picks...

A confession

I was out of town this weekend, my son Trevor and his friends Huston and Justin (not A's players, 10 year olds) had a blast with this weekends toy! My daughter was clicking away as me! Just so there is no confussion, sorry for the exra work Apricot, but the boys had fun! Thank you BCG for playing along with them, they HAD to be #1!

I wish it was me, I was out of town at a Autism seminar. I hate when you pay $ to learn nothing new! I took the laptop but forgot the wireless modem, no internet, sorry!

Ok , just read the thread

I think I am in the clear! No Pictures! Mostly adult innuendo's, tampon section nothing that they do not get at home, all three boys have older sisters and watch tv. I honestly believe the early cialis were worse! Try and explain ED to an 8 year old during a football game!

I will let the parents read it for themselves, and tell them that the computer and internet is now off limits! I can disable the network to that computer from upstairs.

To be honest there are over 200 comments and I bet they got board quick as they realy do not get the subject matter. Aspergers kids to not understand sarcasm and so that is why Trevor brought it up last night, he wanted clarification. Nico was very vague in his tale. Trevor is the smartest of the 3 so if he can't explain it....
