BROKEBACK STADIUM (Cinematic Interlude #1)
Over a score of Ralph Stanley-by-way-of-Kronos Quartet, we see a LOW-ANGLE ESTABLISHING SHOT of MCAFEE COLISEUM -- with early-morning WISPS OF THE MARINE LAYER enshrouding the stadium.
TWO PICKUP TRUCKS approach the stadium from opposite ends of the parking lot.
Both pickups STOP.
VOICEOVER: "In a world ... where two men ..."
CU of PICKUP #1: driver's-side door OPENS -- TWO COWBOY BOOTS step out onto the tarmac.
CU of PICKUP #2: driver's-side door OPENS -- TWO BARE FEET IN FLIP-FLOPS step out onto the tarmac. A DOG jumps out of the cab.
VOICEOVER: "... two men ... are defined by their LOVE ..."
2-shot of COWBOY BOOTS MAN, seen from behind, as he reaches over the sidewall of his truckbed -- and he pulls out a BASEBALL BAT --
VOICEOVER: "... their LOVE -- of THE GAME ..."
CU of COWBOY BOOTS MAN -- it's HEATH LEDGER, in an A's uniform with "10" on the back (yes, and cowboy boots on his feet) --
VOICEOVER: "Monkeyball Productions presents HEATH LEDGER --"
2-shot: the SUN PEEKS through the marine layer, illuminating Heath's WISTFUL YET MANLY EXPRESSION as he HEFTS THE BAT onto his shoulder --
VOICEOVER: "-- and JAKE GYLLENHAAL --"
REVERSE SHOT to FLIP-FLOPS MAN -- JAKE GYLLENHAAL in shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops, with a DOG at his side. Jake SMOLDERS -- and then GRINS BROADLY --
SCORE segues into something slightly more urbane and upbeat, yet still "Red State" in vocality -- say, Toby Keith-plus-Coldplay ...
MONTAGE to match new pace of score: Heath Ledger SWINGING THE BAT during a game -- Jake Gyllenhaal CHATTING ON THE PHONE -- ALYSSA MILANO WEEPING PROFUSELY -- JOE MORGAN SHAKING HIS FIST ANGRILY -- Heath Ledger TROTTING AROUND THE BASES -- Jake Gyllenhaal DRIVING HIS PICKUP TRUCK IN CIRCLES in the parking lot as game-light glow atop the stadium --
VOICEOVER: "-- in a Todd Haynes film ..."
Heath Ledger GROUNDS INTO A DOUBLE PLAY --
-- in the broadcast booth, Joe Morgan SHAKES HIS HEAD --
JOE MORGAN: "I dunno what kinda game you boys think you're playin' ..."
-- Jake Gyllenhaal THROWS A CHAIR --
JAKE GYLLENHAAL: "Ah jest cain't waive yew!"
-- Heath Ledger looking STOIC --
-- KEN MACHA FROWNING --
KEN MACHA: "You, ahhhhh, boys, ahhhh, certainly, ahhhh, did, ahhhh, ground into a lot of double plays ..."
-- Heath Ledger ANGRILY THROWS ASIDE A HALF-COMPLETED CROSSWORD PUZZLE --
VOICEOVER: "... from the best-selling novel by Michael Lewis ..."
-- DRAMATIC LOW-ANGLE SHOT of Jake Gyllenhaal SILHOUETTED AGAINST AN A'S FIREWORKS NIGHT --
VOICEOVER: "BROKEBACK STADIUM -- in theaters this fall ..."

That was great!
What editing program did you use? Where did you get the footage? Oh, man, too many questions in my head! My degree concentration was in video editing. I have a handful of ideas that I want to do from footage this year, I just don't really have the equipment to do it. =(
