Is he eligible for rooking hazing?
He would look very nice in a tu-tu.
Sure. I think they should put him in a Tarzan
outfit and make him carry around a big stick on the plane. Either that or an ax like Paul Bunyan.

Good point
This current team needs to prove it is worthy of the great teams of the past before it can take the same field.
Their poor, young coach was in the hospital
yet Al Davis is getting around okay.

everyone catch that
48 different players used by the a's so far this year. they're like a football team. a better one than the raiders.
I thought Kuiper said 48 different players
used in the OUTFIELD but I must have not heard him right. Surely he wouldn't make that big of a mistake.

OF was the second number mentioned
the a's will tie the franchise record with 49 when dan meyer gets into a game.
29 of them have been outfielders.
i thought he said 16 outfielders
He might have.

And now I'm going to obsessively try to

I was lost around the Papago complex a couple
of years ago and noticed Kotsay was in front of me so I followed him so I could get back on a street that I knew. He waited for a light to turn yellow and then sped off as if I was stalking him. Whatever dude!
by ohtobe21likehuston on Aug 14, 2007 9:13 PM PDT reply actions
I don't know the "around Papago" area...
but from what I've seen of the rest of Phoenix, how on earth do you get lost?
Most of the streets are very easy but the
ones around the practice facility wind around and they have several entrances to different parts of the park. The roads around the stadium itself aren't confusing at all.
by ohtobe21likehuston on Aug 14, 2007 9:19 PM PDT up reply actions
Yes, because we
all know that a yellow light will stop your run of mill psychotic stalker. That's funny. I think I would have run him down just for being stupid.
It really did piss me off. I might have stalked
Tiger Woods but not Mark. Kotsay.

I saw a guy on a bike today, near Stanford,
who looked enough like Tiger Woods that I slowed down as I passed so I could stare and see if it was him. Because, you know, Tiger Woods might just be riding a bike along one of the Peninsula's major thoroughfares.
He was in Manhattan, KS after his father
passed away and I was in the city that same day. His dad used to live there and I was hoping to run into him. That would be very cool.
I went to the Tour Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa (this year's PGA Championship site) about 10 years ago and he was not friendly at all :-(

Nice catch, Mark
I still love you, Mark, and I think you're a great defensive player! (But you should have benched yourself rather than come up with the bases loaded...).
A few thoughts...
-Piazza is finished. Looks like nice guy, but he's all done.
-Cust is the real deal.
-Murphy looking better, but if he replaces Crosby I'd be surprised.
-Kotsay is an excellent CF, but he's the biggest rally killer since Kendall.
-Dye looks a bit heavy. I remember him as thinner.
-Casilla is not the answer to anything.
-Other teams can bunt successfully.
-This is not a team that can manufacture runs
-What a nice feeling not to have Kennedy
-Swisher has guts, is fun to watch and badly needs a rest.
casilla WAS the answer for like two months
he's struggled for a week and a half. jeez.
We kept Piazza solely based on him possibly
being a Type B FA. It might not end up being a bad thing but it might take a few years to find out.

Kotsay vs Lefties
Personally, I miss having Kotsay on the DL, but as bad as he is overall, he is seriously bad against lefties sporting a BA of .130 and an OPS of .332. Yup that's right an OPS of .332 - He couldn't even hold Ken Doll's jockstrap
