3/24-25 Weekend Link Dump - McFood Tries Again?
In keeping with tradition, McFood should be posting his Link Dump immidietly after this one.
Shannon Stewart is feeling much better, and believes he is the healthiest he's been in years.
This spring has been a trial period for Shannon Stewart to test his troublesome left foot, which limited him to just 44 games last season with the Minnesota Twins. He's passed with flying colors so far, which is a relief to Stewart and the A's.
...
"To actually play the game -- run after fly balls, run, slide, just kind of get myself back into it, I'm pleased about that," Stewart said. "That was my whole concern. This is kind of like a rehab/get-ready-for-the-season (type of thing)."
Dan Haren also explains why he was so bad.
Opening Day starter Dan Haren said he had trouble getting loose, and it showed as he was hit hard by the Padres over five innings. Haren attributed it to the typical "dead arm" period that pitchers experience during spring. He wasn't too concerned with his results as he was working on pitching inside in preparation for the opener against Seattle. "Looking at the Seattle lineup, that's one thing I gotta be able to do is pitch in to righties."
Macha Geren has set the top of his order, and I think we can pretty much guess what the rest will be.
If the season started now, Geren said the top five in his batting order would be Jason Kendall, Shannon Stewart, Milton Bradley, Mike Piazza and Eric Chavez. No big surprises there, since he's used that sequence often in exhibitions.
That would make the projected batting order:
C1 Kendall
LF Stewart
CF Bradley
DH Piazza
3B Chavez
RF Swisher
SS Crosby
1B Johnson
2B Ellis
None to say, some people are not pleased with this. Freaks.
Meanwhile, Mike Piazza is settling into his new DH Role, and Donnie Murphy and Lou Merloni get their own fluff article! And the A's Bullpen is still good.

I've already
served McFood with an injunction barring retaliatory dumping.

I know AN has community rules for strikes
but what is the proper community punishment for contempt of court arising from a violation of a dump restraiing order?

"True Love Revolution"
I think they're confusing sex with "Dance Dance Revolution," which might explain the reluctance.
I'm stealing that.
I was just starting to be sympathetic
to the virgins suffering derision from their fellow students. And then I read this:
"They say Harvard has implicitly led students to believe that having sex at college is a foregone conclusion by requiring incoming freshman to attend a seminar on date-rape that does not mention abstinence..."
If reported accurately, that's some scary cause and effect thinking right there.

can't argue with that logic
I was wondering about that too
Evil doer: "I'm gonna have my way with you girlie!"
Girlie: "But I practice abstinence!"
Evil doer: "Oh... well... in that case, never mind. Have a good night."
End scene.
The girl in the picture's kinda cute...
I'd do her.
On a serious note
Is it really called abstinence when you've had sex but then don't do it again? I thought the whole point behind the abstinence ideal was to not have sex until marriage. I don't care how much you pay for the operation, you can't really get your virginity back.
Mommy,
does my Dora Aquapet look like an enispay?

Great.
Now I'm going to be humming the "Cliff Hangers" theme music all day.
it might seem stupid
but belive it or not, I used to watch the price is right too whenever I got sick.
I don't know if its because its good, or because there is absolutly nothing on TV at that time besides the Price is Right.
My 4 year old, LOVES that show, he wants to watch
it every morning.

Ditto.
When we got sick we stayed with my great aunt and uncle. We always watched that... and old Westerns. Another awesome show we watched: Press Your Luck.
Damn, I miss being a kid.
When Crosby
pushes the "press your luck" button, he always gets a whammy. Unlike Zito, he fails to yell "Big money! Big money!"
One summer, I stayed home and watched TV all day.
Press Your Luck, Price Is Right, Joker's Wild, Classic Concentration. Good times.
$5000 + a spin!
I love the Price is Right too.
My roommates and I normally have an early lunch and it watch between classes.
Ha...my parents a shelling out big bucks for me to go to college, and thats how I spend my day. I feel productive.
not new, but i just read these

Kotsay-like dilemma
is this good news for the Angels or bad? Figgins out five to six weeks
oops, messed up the link there
Yay. Now it's baseball season.
Just saw my first A's commercial of the spring. Any ad with Swisher in a trucker hat and mustache gets a thumbs-up from me.
I wanna see A's commercials, too!
I've been seeing the same boring (as usual) Giants commercial every night for about two weeks now... :\
Perhaps they were referring
to the Angels' glovework.

Last year they couldn't catch Oakland.
This year, they caught the contagious version.
Angry Tejada bolts spring game early

very strange. it seems like tejada has some issue every year in baltimore...
More division news.
Those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it...Jamey Wright will open the season as the Rangers' fifth starter.
Didn't he waste a lot of innings as the fifth starter for some other team last year, to the detriment of the development of younger alternatives? At least this time, he'll be in a more challenging league, in a hitter-friendly ballpark.
