Open Thread: Game 25 - A's at Anaheim

The A's and Barry Zito with a 1-2 record and a 5.93 ERA take on the Angels and Hector Carrasco with an 0-1 record and a 5.71 ERA.

Before you start saying this should be an easy win for the A's because it's Zito against Carrasco, just take note of the fact that Carrasco has a better ERA than Zito right now.  The good news is that Carrasco has a 9.00 ERA as a starter filling in for Shrek.

If yesterday's game against Kansas City seemed like the first aberration in that it was a win by more than a few runs, you're right.  Out of the A's first 24 games, 15 games have been decided by two runs or less.  The A's are currently 4-1 on their road trip, thanks to the fortuitous rain out on Saturday.

The A's lineup looks like this:

Kotsay
Swisher
Chavez
Thomas
Crosby
Payton
Johnson
Kendall
Scutaro

It's pretty much the standard A's lineup these days with the exception of Scutaro.  I'm openly wondering with Loaiza on the DL when Millhouse might see the field again.

The Angels send this group out:

Figgins
Cabrera
Anderson
Guerrero
Salmon
Alfonso
Quinlan
Molina
Kendrick

Zito will be facing an all-righty lineup outside of Porno-stache Anderson.  And highly-touted Howie Kendrick is in the lineup, so the A's get a look at him.

LET'S GO OAK-LAND!!!!!!!

Also, if you're a BoSox fan, you probably aren't too bright financially anyways.

Kotsay is unavailable for this game.
link
Kielty, who was optioned to Sacramento on Apr. 21, replaced Loaiza on the roster instead of another pitcher because outfielders Milton Bradley and Mark Kotsay have been unavailable. Bradley missed his fifth straight game Monday because of a right knee strain and a sore right hip. Kotsay was hit by on the right hamstring by a pitch in the leg in Saturday's game, causing heavy bruising.
