Open Thread: Game 25 - A's at Anaheim
The A's and Barry Zito with a 1-2 record and a 5.93 ERA take on the Angels and Hector Carrasco with an 0-1 record and a 5.71 ERA.
Before you start saying this should be an easy win for the A's because it's Zito against Carrasco, just take note of the fact that Carrasco has a better ERA than Zito right now. The good news is that Carrasco has a 9.00 ERA as a starter filling in for Shrek.
If yesterday's game against Kansas City seemed like the first aberration in that it was a win by more than a few runs, you're right. Out of the A's first 24 games, 15 games have been decided by two runs or less. The A's are currently 4-1 on their road trip, thanks to the fortuitous rain out on Saturday.
The A's lineup looks like this:
Kotsay
Swisher
Chavez
Thomas
Crosby
Payton
Johnson
Kendall
Scutaro
It's pretty much the standard A's lineup these days with the exception of Scutaro. I'm openly wondering with Loaiza on the DL when Millhouse might see the field again.
The Angels send this group out:
Figgins
Cabrera
Anderson
Guerrero
Salmon
Alfonso
Quinlan
Molina
Kendrick
Zito will be facing an all-righty lineup outside of Porno-stache Anderson. And highly-touted Howie Kendrick is in the lineup, so the A's get a look at him.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!!!!!!!

You sold your soul to $teinbrenner too?
BTW, did Damon get booed
Booed him big time... they even threw 5 and 10
All the booing didn't seem to slow him down any.
They threw money at him?
If you're rich
Also, if you're a BoSox fan, you probably aren't too bright financially anyways.

Can we all finally accept that Scutaro sucks?
Whenever Chavez, Crosby or Ellis isn't in there, it needs to be Perez. Give him consistent AB's and he'll hit. Career .347 OBP hitter, and hit .297/.360/.398 = .758 last year.
scutaro should only be used in game on the line
