New T-shirt graphic?

Some people were put off by the Communist-style AN graphics I made, well here's the antidote: post-war suburbian-style designs chock full of good ol' Americana!

Here's the original, for reference:

Of course, this was a quick, one-hour job... I can try to fix it up alot more like make the players' faces match the background style more, but I just wanted to see what people thought of this new angle... Very cute!

Just a couple of issues:

I can't really tell what Bobby is holding, but it looks like cigarettes(sp?) and I if it is, I have a major problem with that.
It kinda looks like Bobby and Barry are holding hands.
Barry looks like he is a bit scared of Chavey's driving. I think there might be a better expression we can get from somewhere.

Other than those issues, I think the idea is REALLY cute! Great job!

Personally..

I think it be a nice touch if:

Bobby is actually holding a cigarette. (I mean what all American boys didn't light one up back in the day.)
Who's afraid of a little hand holding? Not me.
I think we should make Barry look even more scared...I'd be scared if I were sitting on the back of a convertible while Chavy was looking over his shoulder after taking a quick toke.

i think i speak for capper3 when I say

that was definitely sarcasm. Correct me if I'm wrong about that capper, but on your behalf, starting and organizing the whole charity drive has given you the benefit of the doubt on comments like this in my mind. good job once again on all that.

BCG, I agree with the smoking thing-- it's a valid concern that I second.

And Andeux, destination-tree was one of the funnier things i've read in a while here!!

In really prefer the commie graphic

First of all, it's a parody of A's fandom. Beane is our Great Leader and we all have copies of his Little Red Book, I mean Moneyball.

Oaktown, just design away. Things designed by committee usually satisfies nobody.

i prefer....

the communist t-shirt. just as secret ASian man said, the commie graphic fits A's fandom. while the theme of this shirt is nice, doesn't really say anything to me about being an A's fan. who did the communist shirts really put off? and if they did put off a few people, well then i think that's part of what's nice about AN: the ability to say something that'll put off a few people, and not fear being politically incorrect - all in the name of saying what u really feel about your love for the A's! i don't believe in being rude or disrespectful to anyone, but to me the commie shirts weren't meant in a disrespectful way to anyone. bring back the commie tees!

That is really funny. I think the faces you chose are genius and would be exactly what they would look like if they were in that situation (a stoned 80's movie about the fifties) Very very well done.
Help me out here peeps my 80's movie knowledge is poor and i saw this movie days ago but it totally reminds me of the flick Diner. Cros is like the kevin bacon character. I cant place the others really maybe chavy is like Paul Reiser? Amazing movie by the way (I know you all doubt me with Paul Reiser in it but just trust me its really good).
