GOG 2014 #43 - @ Angels - ANSWERS POSTED

Well, this is just a little ho-hum series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Will most likely be going in to the 4-game series a game behind the Angels as the Angels are currently winning their game 5-1. So, yeah, pretty important 4-game series coming up.

Well, This just plain sucked!

1. Series Outcome. (4 points)

Bad Guys Sweep

2. Game Score. Rank the starting pitchers for each team from highest game score to lowest game score. There should be two lists, one list for the A's and one for the Angels. (2 points each) Does any starting pitcher have a game score above 70? (1 point) Does anyone have a game score below 30. (1 point) (18 points total)

A's: Shark (77), Gray (56), Lester (54), Kaz (22!!)

Slegna: Shoemaker (74), Weaver (71), Rasmus (43), Wilson (42)

Yes, over 70. Yes, Under 30.

3. The Big Three. We all know of the Angels big three - Trout, Pujols, and Hamilton. At this point, determining the A's big 3 is not quite as easy, but I will go with Crisp, Donaldson, and Moss as those are three that really need to get going for the A's to keep up and have a chance in October. So, guess which threesomes has: a) more hits, b) more home runs, c) more walks, d) more strikeouts. (2 points each) (8 points total)

a) A's, b) slegna, c) A's, d) slegna

4. Bullpens: Guess which team's bullpen has: a) more IP; b) more hits; c) more earned runs; d) more walks. e) more strikeouts. (1 point each) (5 points)

a) slegna, b) A's, c) A's, d) slegna, e) slegna

5. Saturday August 30. Well, Saturday is my birthday so I'm certainly hoping for an A's win and will ask questions specifically for that game.

a) Who wins? (1 point) Final Score (2 points) Angels, 2-0

b) Who is the winning pitcher? (1 point) Herrera

c) Is a save recorded? (1 point) yes

d) Name one player from each team that hits a home run in the game, nobody is an ok answer . (2 points each)Nobody, Nobody

e) Number of errors in the game? (1 point) 2

(10 points total)

6. Heroes. Name the position players with the highest WPA for each team, each game. That makes 8 total guesses (you can name the same player twice if you think they'll do it twice). It does not matter which game the player has the highest WPA. (That is, if you guess "Moss" he can lead the A's in any of the three games for you to score points. If he leads in two games, you only get points for one, unless you name him twice.) [2 points each] [16 total]

A's : Donaldson, Norris, Donaldson, Norris

Slegna: Hamilton, Ianetta, Aybar, Aybar

Please post your guesses by first pitch on Tursday at 7:05 p.m. 61 points possible.

And, GO A's!!!
