Game #100: Cespedes Awesome, Johnson Not
A's fans: Let's do it, so awesome; we dropped a 5-spot on the Astros, and another two, and we're leading 7-0 and 8-1, we're rolling, let's go! Oh, it's 9-2! Let's bring in Jim Johnson! Totally perfect spot! We're up by a touchdown; no worries right? HOLY HELL WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GAME?! I didn't know the Astros could score 5-runs in an inning like we did? What is happening? Why is the tying run up? HELP US GREGERSON! Why is Doolittle getting a save? Is Cespedes hurt? WHY OH WHY? Wait, we win? WE STILL WIN! And end scene.

"Dynomite!" JJ Might Have Gone Boom For Last Time
It has been more painful to watch than Jimmie Walker's fall from stardom. I'm talking, of course, about the slow, steady, and excruciating journey that Jim Johnson has taken from closer to failed mop up man in 2014.

Game #54: Jim Johnson ruins Nick Punto's big day
In a boring afternoon of baseball, Chavez was let down by shoddy defense and the A's left a small army on base. Jim Johnson did about as well as you'd expect. But Nick Punto hit a homer, so we've got that going for us, which is nice.

Doolittle's promotion makes his contract a bargain
Sean Doolittle is now the closer. Thank goodness he's under contract, but now let's ask why the A's signed Jim Johnson, why they then offered Doolittle his contract in the first place, and why Doolittle was happy to accept it.
