It's the rubber game of the series, and so as a special promotion the A's are handing out free rubbers to the first 10,000 fans who were never conceived!
With Sonny Gray pitching on his second consecutive Sonday, we start today's thread with an actual weather report: Gray, yes. Sunny, no. Raining? Actually a little. So unless the skies clear don't look for the ball to carry too well this afternoon.
Of course this may not be an issue anyway, given that the starting pitchers are "best All-Star not to be one" Gray and Kevin Gausman, who stifled the A's for 7 innings on June 7th, allowing just 4 hits and a run, walking 1 and striking out 6. Gausman is 4-2, 3.29 ERA for the season, even though he looks suspiciously like the awkward geek who helps me look for printer paper at Office Depot.
Yoenis Cespedes gets a turn at DH today and with Josh Reddick still out (likely activated for Tuesday's game) Craig Gentry gets a start against a RHP. Thanks to Jason Hammel's "6 outs and buh-bye" Saturday night suckstravaganza, 5 of the A's 7 relievers pitched last night leaving only Eric Flaherty and Sean O'Doolittle as fully rested members of the relief corps.
