It's week 16 of the Fantasy Baseball season and due to the All Star break it's an extended week as games from this weekend are added to next weeks games making this a longer and in some cases, a much more difficult week. Let's get right into this as we have much to cover today.
A's to Watch this Week
Stephen Vogt C OF: Vogt has been given the opportunity to play and is currently in the midst of a 11 game hitting streak. He's also dual eligible and is currently widely available in most leagues. Vogt would also make an incredible Daily Fantasy Baseball pick this Friday July 18, 2014 at FanDuel as he is valued at $2700. (Stats)
Jed Lowrie SS 2B: Lowrie has been a bit of a Fantasy disappointment this season but he went into the break on a 13-28 tear and that's a good thing to see. Being dual eligible is an even better thing to see. A $2600 FanDuel daily value in a pricey position (SS) is the best thing to see. Currently he is roughly 65% owned in the various leagues so if you need a middle infielder Lowrie may be what you need. (Stats)
Nate Freiman 1B OF: Freiman has been damn good thus far against lefties posting up a slash line of .250/.250/.667/.917. Frieman is a very good daily value play option of $2700 at FanDuel on Saturday as he faces southpaw Wie-Yen-Chin. He'll be in my lineup, how about yours? (Stats)
Waiver Wire Suggestions For Week 16
Omar Infante 2B Royals: Infante has had a decent season thus far posting a .276/.317/.381/.696 slash line with 5 bombs, 46 RBI and 31 runs scored. He's widely available and if you need a second baseman to replace Brandon Phillips Infante might just be your guy. (Stats)
Arismendy Alcantrara SS/2B Cubs: The sample size is small but Alcantrara has produced some really good numbers since his call up to the bigs. He's also batting in the 2 hole which will give him plenty of opportunities to continue doing his thing. He's widely available and should be the Cubs everyday 2B going forward. (Stats)
Jason Castro C Astros: Castro has had a decent season and his slash line of .232/.304/.386/.690 ranks him 20th amongst Fantasy baseball catchers. He's batting in the 2 hole for the Astros and is currently riding a seven game hitting streak. If you need a replacement for Yadier Molina Castro might be a good choice. (Stats)
Dillon Gee SP Mets: Gee has pitched well this season posting a 2.51 ERA, 1.06 WHIP while averaging 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in 59.2 innings of work. He face the Padres in Petco on Saturday July 19, 2014 and would be an excellent streaming choice as well as a Daily value pick at FanDuel. (Stats)
