Hi everyone! This is my usual early-season post reminding you that if you're a displaced A's fan in New York City, Pacific Standard, a West Coast-themed bar that I own, is the place to go to watch games. My business partner and I are Northern California natives and huge A's fans. We have a couple fancy big screens and show all the games, and a wide selection of hard-to-find West Coast microbrews to boot. The details:
What you won't see on there is that we have an impressive collection of bobbleheads which we may let you play with during games, including, notably, Hammer and Roy Steele. We also have signed photos of Jack Cust and Justin Duchscherer. We stopped seeking out signed photos after those two because apparently it's a curse.
Anyway, we had a great crowd last night (including the director of an upcoming 30 for 30 film on the 1989 World Series/quake!) and we look forward to seeing you around.
On another note, we always try to catch the A's when they're in town, and this year they play both the Mets and Yankees. Citi Field is a way better fan experience, so we're thinking of rolling to a game there. If you're interested, shoot me an e-mail at john -at- pacificstandardbrooklyn.com. Hope to see you around, and let's go Oakland!
