First of all I am so happy that the A's are doing so well this year I am so happy for them.
This has been on my mine for a while. I was talking to one of my A's friends and we both think that Vogelsong of the Giants took PED's in 2011 and 2012. I know that some pitchers get better with age such as: Doug Jones, Billy Taylor, and R.A. Dickey.
Vogelsong was a nobody when he signed a contract to be a non roster invitee in 2011 for the Giants. He wasn't a guy we had heard about. He wasn't a major league journeyman like a Josh Fogg, Kip Wells,or Chad Gaudin. Vogelsong had done nothing in his career before he 2011. If you don't believe me, look it up yourself.
How does a guy make a ball club? From there he basically set the world on fire for the 2011 and 2012 season at the age of 33. All of a sudden this guy is one of the best pitchers in the game. He makes the All-Star team in 2011. . He got paid 6.5 million the last two years.
Still to this day, Giants fans still believe that this guy is one of the best ptichers in the game. They still have the mindset that he is better than anyone on the A's. At least the people I talk to at work and hear on the radio. They think this guy is the "s".
As I am writing this, Vogelsong has a 5.90 era. All the comments that I read online blame it on a bunch of factors. They blame is on the umpires, the WBC, and that he broke his finger. Have any Giants fans ever seen his stats before he got there? They were dreadful.
