Hey fellow ANers, athleticsperson01 here, and today I wanted to talk about an interesting topic, and all opinions are welcome. Do you think big name stars, (now I'm not going to name names because I don't know what they think) don't want to sign with Oakland because of the stadium? Yes, some people will say the Coliseum's a dump, but that shouldn't be the reason MLB players should realize this as a deal breaker to not come here. Look at the situation right now, the A's are an above .500 team, in first place by 6.5 games over Texas with 12 games left. Finally, there magic number was reduced to 7, last night even with the A's losing to the Halos. Long story short, you're a first place team, with supportive fans why wouldn't you want to be here? Let me give you another example, we all know how the Angels can play, normally. Do you think a disappointing season like this year isn't going to stop them from pulling in some big name, this offseason? No way! They'll be like "Oh! I'm playing with Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols, Mike Trout, etc." By all means I'm not trying to bash any MLB team I'm just giving an example here. It can be like that with any normal contending team. At the end of the day though they also can be saying "I'm playing with Brandon Moss, Jed Lowrie,...uhm." You know how capable they are of playing, why are you being a snob? Thanks for reading guys, all comments are appreciated! Thanks again!
