Good evening and happy Friday-which-hopefully-was-a-holiday-for-you! I'm baseballgirl and I'll be your host tonight as we watch the 2013 Oakland Athletics, winners of 50 games so far on this season, take on the Royals in Kansas City as Tommy Milone matches up against the Royals' Wade Davis. According to MLB.com, this is the best start for an Oakland ballclub since 1992.

The A's swept the Royals in their only other meeting this season; a three game set back in May. Tommy Milone will look to start off this series on the right foot in the opener tonight; both he and Davis have had their struggles recently. The A's offense would also like to break out tonight; they scored exactly one run in their last two games.

The most notable shift in the lineup is the struggling Yoenis Cespedes hitting out of the sixth spot tonight. Imagine who the A's could be with him on a tear. They only, after all, hold the fourth best record in the Majors right now.
