GOG #12: Seattle Mariners - Our Heads Are Held High (ANSWERS POSTED)

SCORE YOUR LAST GOG

After the debacle at Cleveland, the A's head back to the west best coast to take on the division rival Seattle Mariners. Amazingly, we have managed not to draw King Felix, meaning that Oakland's offense will face off against Iwakuma, Maurer and Saunders.

1) Series outcome (3 points)

2) So not hot The first start Dan Straily made this year was one in place of the suspended Bartolo Colon, and he pitched well enough to make many question whether he should be sent down or not. Since getting brought back up in late April, things have not gone smoothly. Predict Straily's IP/H/BB/K. Does he surrender a homerun? (2 points each, then one point)

3) The switcheroo The A's lead the majors in runs scored, with 177. Their staff ranks 4th in runs in runs allowed; only Houston, Toronto and the slegnA are worse. How many runs do the A's score this series? How many runs do they allow? (3 points each)

4) C'mon, who doesn't love Mike? Michael Morse opened the season with 4 homeruns and 6 RBI against Oakland. Since then he's hit .202. Predict Morse's PA/H/K. Does he go yard? If yes, more than once? (2 points each for PA/H/K, then one point each)

5) Poor Rosy The man who sprints just about everywhere all the time was rewarded with a botched call on what should've been a game-tying homerun. Predict Rosy's PA/H/XBH/RBI. (2 points each)

6) The Hot Corner Josh Donaldson has been one of the A's best hitters. Meanwhile, Kyle Seager has quietly put together a very solid season so far. Who gets more H/XBH/RBI/HR? ("Neither" is an acceptable answer if they tie, including a 0-0 tie) (2 points each)

7) Our Hero Grant Balfour has had some tough outings so far but he has yet to blow a save, which continues the third longest non-BSV streak in A's history. Predict Balfour's IP/K/SV. Does the streak end? (2 points each, then one point)

(49 points total)
