Anderson Fallout

I'm doing this on a phone so it's not gonna be glamorous. From MLBTR we heard that Samardzija could be available and that Epstein has/had interest in Storen/Clippard as an attempt to strengthen their bullpen. With this Anderson move the A's clear some salary, get a potential #5 in Pomeranz to add to a rotation that consists, IMO, of 2 potential #2's and 5 #3's to #5's. Thoughts on whether Beane is attempting to deal from mid-rotation depth and a bullpen surplus to truly get an ace. Again, in my opinion, this groups window of contention is 2016 and probably more like 2015. Samardzija becomes a FA in 2015 and will yield a comp pick to whomever has him when he's offered a QO and declines. He fits the A's needs as well as just about every other teams and would fit with the contention timeline I believe is realistic. Does Parker/Griffin and a bullpen piece get it done? If not, what does? I don't follow the Cubs but I'd presume cost controlled pitching is something they'd be interested in. Solely thinking of a playoff rotation, a 1-2-3 of Samardzija Kazmir and Gray looks very appealing. If Straily can limit his walks this year he may be a valuable post-season piece as well. Does Billy call and does Theo listen?
