ALDS Game #3: Oakland Athletics at Detroit Tigers

Good morning, Athletics Nation, and welcome to GAME THREE! After an emotionally exhausting weekend, that saw the A's fight as hard as we've seen all season--led by rookie Sonny Gray--we find ourselves in Game 3, with the series tied at 1. Obviously, I can't overstate the importance of this morning's game; it's basically boiled down to a three-game series, with two in Detroit, and we have Jarrod Parker on the mound today against another of the Tigers' seemingly endless supply of ace pitchers, Anibal Sanchez. LET'S DO THIS!

ALDS Game #3: Athletics at Tigers (5)

Game tied? No problem for our fearless heroes, who finished what they started and knocked Anibal Sanchez out of the game in the fifth inning on a home run by Brandon Moss, a single by Yoenis Cespedes, and a home run by Seth Smith. Parker finished his fifth. We're heading to the sixth, it's 6-3 A's. LET'S GO OAK-LAND!

ALDS Game #3: Athletics at Tigers (4)

A pitchers' duel, this is not. The A's and Tigers have both doubled their run total of the series in today's game so far. You didn't think this would be EASY, did you? After staking Jarrod Parker to a 3-0 lead, the Tigers got it all back in the fourth. The game is tied, but the good news is the A's have been knocking around Anibal Sanchez, and they are likely to see the Tigers' bullpen sooner rather than later. We're going to the fifth. The A's need to hit. They need to score! LET'S GO OAK-LAND!

ALDS Game #3: Athletics at Tigers (3)

After putting a veritable treasure trove of runners on base, especially compared to the A's first two games, the A's finally managed to push one across the plate, thanks in part to the Tigers' defense. Parker has shut down the Tigers so far in the first 3 innings, and the A's lead 1-0. Make no mistake; they need more, but with Sanchez already at 64 pitches, this can only help the A's. LET'S GO OAK-LAND!

ALDS Game #3: Athletics at Tigers (2)

The A's had one of the better offensive innings this whole series in the first, as they stranded two whole runners! The score is 0-0, going to the second.
