Alright folks, it's time to take our semiannual trips to Magical Christmas Land and think up who we'd like to see the A's acquire/deal this offseason.
My initial ideas:
Realistic
Colon
or
Hudson
Imagine seeing Huddy back in the green n' gold? Bartolo can't last forever, and Hudson's been good for a long time in Atlanta. This team plus Hudson would be epic.
Obviously buffed by Coors a lot, but he plays a lot of different spots and had decent non-Coors numbers last year. Seems like a solid A's-type role player.
Less Realistic
Bartolo Colon -and- Tim Hudson
Theres a fun 1-2 punch. Colon, Hudson, Gray, Parker in the playoffs? Not too shabby. Might be a little cost prohibitive to get both, but that frees up a chance to trade some of that back-end young pitching, Moscoso/Outman style. Or even Gio/Cahill style.
Magical Christmas Land
Bay Area guy, the game's best shortstop (even minus Coors), would make our left infield Donaldson/Tulo/Lowrie, hits for contact. Signed through 2020 with 118 mil left, so 7 yrs/16 million a year. A lot, but 8 million last year went to Chris Young... My magical Christmas land long shot. But it'd be so epic!
Meh
Beane loves him, obviously, but I feel like we reaaaally need some more contact hitting after that playoff series, and 2B/SS seems like a decent place to get it.
So---who's on your lists?
