Happy New Year AN! I have been a bit under the weather, and the information that I am about to share will either confirm my obsession with Major League Baseball and my beloved A's, or once again prove that there is absolutely nothing of value on daytime television.
Having recorded MLB Networks version of the top 100 plays of the year, I decided to break the plays down by team, and then to further my obsession, by player (or players).
I am pleased to report that out of the top 100, 14 of those plays belong to our boys in Green and Gold; Sogard, Reddick, Donaldson x2, Crisp x3, Cespedes, Hicks, Inge, Norris, Moss, Smith and who could forget the Donaldson to Rosales to Carter triple play.
The other Bay Area team had 11.
San Diego had 6. Atlanta, Cincinnati (Phillips x3), LAA (Trout x5), Miami and Washington each had 5. Cleveland, NYY (Ibanez x3) and Pittsburgh had 4,
3 each for Arizona, Baltimore, Cubs, Detroit, LAD, Minnesota, St. Louis and Toronto.
2 each for Colorado and NYM. Only 1 for Boston, White Sox, Philadelphia and Seattle.
Shut out were Houston (welcome to the AL West), Kansas City, Milwaukee, Tampa Bay and Texas.
ONLY 84 DAYS UNTIL OPENING NIGHT (AND 20 DAYS UNTIL FANFEST!)
