Contract goes to 2016
The A's have extended Bob Melvin, according to the Contra Costa Times.
Melvin stormed on to the scene after the A's fired Bob Geren, and led the misfit A's to their first AL West title since 2006, though to unfortunately fall to the Tigers in the post season (just like 2006).
