It was an unstoppable force (Milone) against an immovable object (Vargas). And then, there was Jonny Gomes, who is made of adamantium. Thanks to a 2-out, 3-run Gomer, the A's have drawn first blood in what was shaping up to be a run-of-the-mill A's/M's snooze-fest. Following the script, the Mariners scored one in the bottom of the 5th (hey, you can't have a 6-1 final without that little "1"), and Oakland leads 3-1 as we enter the top of the 6th.

Tommy Milone has 8 strikeouts in 5 innings without walking anyone. How could anyone not love this guy?
