We're down to the final 30, folks! Regular season, that is. Things the A's are going for today:
- Their 2nd consecutive series sweep.
- Their 2nd consecutive series sweep of the Red Sox.
- Their 8th consecutive win over the Red Sox.
- Their 9th consecutive win overall.
It's insane, yet it's happening. Coolio! Brett Anderson gets the ball for Oakland. Not only has Anderson been brilliant in two starts (14 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER), but his best career performance, a 2-hit shutout, came at Fenway Park. Anderson is opposed by Daisuke Matsuzaka, who is coming off of a solid start (7 IP, 5 hits, 1 unearned run) against the Kansas City Royals.
