A team that was wrecked for today in order to compete three or four years from tomorrow. A team that traded for prospects it's best assets-- three quality, low cost MLB pitchers, each of whom had been an All Star in one of the prior three seasons.
A team whose moves had the obvious consequence of further demoralizing an already (assuming AN is representative) amoral and immoral fan base, and conveniently supported a dipshit owner's bullshit assertions that Oakland is no longer a major league city. A team for which 60 game win predictions were well within reason.
A team which has four rookies in its starting rotation. (Think about it!)
A team for which predicting a World Series appearance today is far less outrageous than an opening day prediction that it would be two games out and have the fourth best record in baseball on September 15 would have been.
And to top it all off, it's YOUR TEAM, a team which, because you are reading this, you obviously care way too much about.
What it is is ...
Is once in a lifetime. And completely unbelievable.
