During the gdt yesterday, there was a string referring to who people liked in the NFL. Noticed a few things, but it got me wondering. For those of you that live in the Bay Area, it is pretty self explanatory other than why the A's instead of the Giants. For those outside of the Bay Area, how did you become an A's fan?

For me it was the mid 80's and I lived in Tacoma, WA. The A's AAA team at the time was the Tacoma Tigers and I started to like the A's. My dad took me to a game in Seattle between the A's and Mariners and asked me who I was cheering for since both had ties to the State of Washington, I wasn't sure, so I said I would be a fan of whoever won. The A's won that game, and due to that, since 1986, I have been an A's fan ever since.

So for those outside the Bay Area, why the A's? For those within the Bay Area, why the A's over the Giants?
