Just watching the WC standings, naturally as an A;'s fan, though admittedly I wonder why nobody seems to be talking about the simple fact that they are in position to win the Division. That sort of baffles me, like everyone has given up, Ah we can't win the Div, no way, even though we have been as close as 3 or 4 games behind at times.

However, that being said, I have to be totally befuddled by the WC standings today.

Mind you, this is after Balt lost to NYY earlier today, and Oak game still going on, But..

Oak 74 57 --
Balt 73 59 --

Ok so Oak has won one more game and lost 2 less games. That means Baltimore is 1.5 games behind Oakland, by everything I have seen in standings in decades of watching MLB.

Yet all the standings I see, show them as tied. Sorry if I don't get that. What am I missing?

I have a feeling its something to do with these 2 WC and maybe I shouldn't be looking at WC standings in the traditional way. All I know, is it makes zero sense to me. :)

Any light to shed. Must be this new fangled 2 WC teams thing I guess. At any rate, sure is great to see the A's playing so great!!
