The Oakland Athletics have acquired catcher/first baseman Blake Lalli from the Chicago Cubs for catcher Anthony Recker, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle:

Lalli was designated for assignment by the Cubs last week and recently accepted an assignment to Triple-A. The 29-year-old appeared in six games for the Cubs this season, collecting two hits over fifteen at-bats.
Lalli spent a majority of the season with Chicago’s Triple-A club, where he hit .259/.293/.395 with twenty doubles and seven home runs. He owns a career OPS of .774 over seven seasons in the minors.
Recker, 28, appeared in thirteen games this season for the A’s, tallying four hits, including one double over thirty-one at-bats. He made his major league debut last season and owns a career major league OPS of .468.
Recker has also spent much of the year in Triple-A, posting at clip of .265/.358/.435 with seven doubles and nine home runs.
