This is my first Fan Post and I know it is a little premature to discuss this upcoming off season considering how well we are playing right now. That being said, this team has the makeup to be a solid contender, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for considerable improvement at positions of need.
Since we missed out on Hanley Ramirez and it doesn't look like we are making a play for anyone else, I wanted to discuss the possibility of trading for Tulowitzki this off season.
The Rockies aren't in any position to compete anytime soon with the Giants, Dodgers, or the Diamondbacks. They lack quality pitching and have an aging 1b in Todd Helton. They have a short window to compete with Carlos Gonzalez. This is why I think Beane can manage to swing a trade for Troy Tulowitzki. We have the pitching prospects they covet - Peacock, Gray, Cole, Straily, Ynoa, etc. I don't know if there is a realistic package we can bundle together with some, if not all, of these guys for Tulowitzki. If this was possible we have a chance to be a contender for years to come.
What does everyone think?
