In case you missed today's A's announcement:
The Oakland A’s placed shortstop Cliff Pennington on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow tendinitis, the club announced today. To take his spot on the roster, the A’s recalled infielder Eric Sogard from Triple-A Sacramento.
In my opinion, the importance of winning last night's game cannot be overstated. Not only did it break the Yankees' streak of Coliseum wins, but it set up the four-game series nicely; the A's need only win 2 of 3 to actually win the series, and 1 of 3 to split. And we've all agreed that a split would be acceptable, but as long as we're taking this game by game; oh hell, let's win them all.
Tonight's game features Tommy Milone and his shiny home record, pitted against Ivan Nova. Milone pitched well against the Yankees on the road, and here's to hoping he continues his absolute dominance at the Coliseum. The A's should have a great deal of momentum coming into this game; let's hope the offense stays hot against Nova, who has been pretty tough this season.
Here is your lineup; we're going Carter-less again:
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
