Game Thread 90: A's vs. Rangers

Stay connected for news and updates

The secret to Colon's two-seamer movement: telekenesis

After the offensive explosion over the weekend in Minnesota, the A's look to continue their hot streak tonight against the Rangers and their Texas-sized offense. Indeed, the A's NEED to keep up the pace if they hope to even split this series.

Tonight, it's a battle of previously-awesome pitchers who are in the twilight of their careers. Roy Oswalt has been pretty pedestrian so far in his pseudo-retirement tour in homage to Roger Clemens: 3.89 FIP and averaging only 5+ IP per start. Bartolo Colon hasn't been much better (3.99 FIP) but has already banked 104 IP despite being 4 years older. Indeed, tonight's matchup seems to favor Oakland given that A's killer Colby Lewis is up tomorrow.
