I haven't read all of the stories about what efforts have been made by Oakland higher ups to keep the team at home, but this article surfaced today:

Very interesting... Could this be an echo of when SF Big Wigs stepped in and scraped the Giants off the pavement and plopped em in the China Basin? Good article. What is everybody's opinion on this? Can the big companies of Oakland throw their corporate dollars around to keep the A's in Oakland, or better yet buy the team?!
