I am trying to figure out when the A's will be trading their future free agents.

It appears that Jun 16 is the date that you can trade free agents that you have signed in the last year.

I am specifically thinking about Colon and McCarthy.

MLB says

JUNE 16, 2012

First date that Clubs may trade an eligible free agent player who was signed after electing free agency

Is the assumption that Colon and McCarthy will be traded between Jun 16 and 31 Jul? If the A's are still .500 on Jun 16 does that matter? Or is it just that they are waiting for Anderson and Braden to come back and those two become "expendable" when they do.

I am also assuming that Fuentes and Balfour are in a different class since they signed as free agents more than 1 year ago.
