Chad Bradford named OAK Draft Rep - least famous rep in the room?

7

Hey all, in another sign of Oakland seeming to just not care, they're going to be sending Chad Bradford to represent the team as part of a PR stunt for the MLB draft. Basically, each team sends one to two representatives associated with the franchise to read out name selections or something. Some teams went all in, bringing luminaries such as Ferguson Jenkins and Tommy Lasorda. Many teams at least used hometown heroes like Mike Cameron and Ron Karkovice. Okay sure, Bradford's sort of well known because he was a central figure in the Moneyball movie. But I'd rather this event focused on the franchise more than the movie. Somebody like a Mark Mulder, maybe a Terry Steinbach? Vida Blue does all sorts of PR stuff. Looks like most of these people still work for the franchise in some capacity. Not sure who the most famous A's coach/scout/exec might be. Curt Young? The Tigers win the pathetic award, sending Murray Cook. The Padres managed only Brad Ausmus, who's much better known as an Astro. But man o' man, our best option was some middle reliever? Nothing against Bradford by the way. He had a couple great years and was quite fun to watch. But his name clearly looks wrong on the that list of players.
