Comcast needs two Hotstove shows!
The hotstove show on comcast which is supposed to be split between As and Giants is almost all about the giants it makes me sick!I tried watching it and each time its like 90 percent Giants ,even the set is Giants orange!
The Giants bias has become even more obvious since the world series win I all but stopped watching chronicle live for months because all it was was a Giants love in!In all the As four world series wins I dont think they got a tenth of the coverage the Giants got with one,Giants fans better pray that they can have a division race against the el foldo San diego Padres a team which always finds a way to lose and then meet the overrated Phils which can beat the Rays but ofcourse roll over for the Yanks and then get to play the super choker Rangers a team that amazes me with the inventive ways they find to blow the big one!Being an as fan can be tough but the more vocal we are about the bias pointing out that untill recently with the advent of the Giants new park each team sold about the same amount of tickets with the As outselling the Giants some seasons.Be loud and proud and call the media on this less than subtle bias which was well in place long before the new park in San Fran

The entire CSN cast of clowms is pretty bad
I believe it was Tim Kamakazi and the old dude who has spent over a decade reaking of embalming fluid; that both stated they do not acknowledge the existence of the Oakland A’s as a professional baseball team on CSN Bay Area. It’s all pretty sad.

"the old dude"
you are speaking of sounds a lot like Lowell Cohn, who I can not stand. He better not have a heart attack in my presence.

On a tangential note
How are people feeling about the new player in town, 95.7 The Game? The station had a rocky start what with all the garbage filler shows but they finally settled on a lineup and have been going strong for a few months now.
Personally, I’ve overall enjoyed that station more than 24-7 Giants hoopla over at KNBR. The Rise Guys program has some good early morning banter and seems to focus just as much on national stories as the home front. Not a good go-to for in-depth regional coverage, but I like ’em well enough as a sports show.
Don’t get a chance to catch John Lund much.
Tierney and Davis is a bit hit and miss. They occasionally really into the Xs and Os of each team, which I really appreciate. I’m a guy who likes a program that will teach me more about a sport, and it’s incredibly rare to find that on local sports talk radio. On the downside with these two guys they sometimes get into very lame debates where they clearly take opposite sides just to banter. I know ya have to fill four hours somehow but still not my cup of tea.
Chris Townsend at night of course represents “our guy”. He and Susan Slusser are the two local media personalities that have had significant interaction. I generally enjoy his show though I find he can be overly dismissive with call-ins sometimes. But that’s a minor gripe and it’s clear he’s at least trying for some real interaction. I do enjoy his no-BS attitude in team coverage.
For team coverage, I’m glad the Sharks and A’s are getting some coverage. I still wish the Sharks would get some more airplay, what with them being the only consistently winning team in the Bay. For me the real test of 95.7 coverage will come when the A’s next big winning surge comes along. I can understand not following a boring, losing team. But when the A’s turn the corner a la Niners 2011 it’ll be 95.7’s turn to prove they’re for real as a whole Bay Area sports network.
The few times I have flipped it on other then the NHL Rush
I have been largely disappointed as I was when they first started. I’ll stick to A’s only broadcasts and the occasion interview.
I am an A's fan from Sacramento...
So I started listening to 95.7 The Game for The Rise Guys. I try to catch them in the morning. After the Cespedes news broke, I listened in to the Chris Townsend show, cuz he is the reliable guy to talk A’s baseball. I haven’t listened much to The Wheelhouse or The Drive, but I like what they do mid-days, switching up co-hosts with John Lund between Papa, Urban, etc. I remember watching A’s games with Greg Papa on the call back in the late 90’s. Overall, I’d give 95.7 The Game a thumbs up.

I have been listening pretty much everyday
since the new lineups have been featured and I like it a lot. The only thing on KNBR that I still enjoy is Damon Bruce. The Rise Guys are great and they do bring up the A’s a lot. They will be spending a week with the Giants ST site in Arizona and a week with the A’s as well so that should be good coverage for Oakland. The station continues to improve.
I stopped listening to the Rise Guys once they left Sacramento
but their show was passable on KHTK, bordering on good. I have become a bigger Don Geronimo fan now, I think Phantom from the old Rise Guys show has transitioned nicely into Donnie G’s show. Some people think he is just an immature wannabe shock jock, because he kind of is sometimes, but I find his show is entertaining and the mix of Carmichael Dave, Don and Phantom seems to work pretty well.

Koji
Uehera had a great year last year, and is relatively cheap. Any word on what we might be giving up to get him?
a backup infielder (maybe Rosales) and a prospect is what I read somewhere
Sorry I can’t remember where it was.
That doesn't sound like a Beane move.
I see Beane giving up one of our 1B/DH prospects (Carter, Kia’Kualia or Allen), if we’re to get him.

This is one of the best pieces I have ever read on AN...
I’m going to make sure to rec it so that it stays up for awhile, and all the visitors to AN can see how awesome our content is!
What's worse... AN or Free Kraut? At this point, I think AN. But Free Kraut is still clumsy and amateurish. Argh, what's an A's fan to do!?!?
Good point, I'll add a rec.
Feel free to create superior content if you feel this isn’t up to your standards.

I didn't say anything about it not "being up to my standards"...
I said that I loved it and I want it to stay for awhile. What are you saying?

it makes me sick with the comcast and knbr coverage
Oh my gosh! How funny you say this because i alwaaaaaaaays complain about this to everyone in my house, but never crossed my mind to post something! i havent watched chronicle live in months either and i don’t intend to anytime soon. it makes me sick with such an OVERLY BIASED side to the giants. on the bright side, we have 4 championships. :) unfortunately, giants fans disregard that.
With respect to CSN can't say I'm shocked seeing as how the Giants have something
like a 25% ownership stake in it and well KNBR is their flagship station.
Yeah I came to say this
I can’t really blame a channel for putting their own best interests first. A’s are the only MLB team that doesn’t have any % ownership stake in their broadcast channel. THAT is the real problem. Of course the channel the Giants own 25% of is going to favor the Giants.
