A's reportedly sign Cespedes
KNBR just announced that the A's signed Yeonis Cespedis for 4 years $36 million. We will see if this is true. So far I haven't found anything official yet. I was suprised when I did not see anything on AN about it yet. This is an interesting signing if it is true. The Athletics could certainly use the talent, but it does not really fit the rebuild. If we did sign Cespedes where does he fit in with all of the other recent player acquisitions?

Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel. - Yogi Berra
multiple sources are reporting this, especially in twitter
see for example @susanslusser and @janeMLB.
I wouldn’t expect official A’s confirmation until Cespedes takes a physical and gets his US visa.
It may be a good idea to take a look at his birth certificate
If his age hasn’t been confirmed already.
You think he'd lie to make himself 26?
I would have chosen something younger if I were going to lie.
Its hard to claim you are 19
When you got kids in junior high
there would have been an investigation already
to get him residency outside of Cuba.
BTW the current issue with people lying about their age is really a serious problem only in the Dominican Republic.

$hit
Reacted to the news too quickly, I read Cuban Outfielder and thought Jorge Soler. Damn it now I have to sit back down and get back to work.

Soler's not even from Cuban
This doesn’t really make sense.

Now it's time to get Soler
Bring back the Cuban Connection.
Hopefully they sign Soler too. I would have rather had Soler than Cespedis though.
Would Cespedis be on the 25 man roster most likely? What would this mean for the players currently on the team?
I’m thinking he would probaly be one of our best hitters. Hitting in the 3 or 4 slot maybe. If I’m not mistaken I think he’s like 26 so he wouldn’t in the minors very long if at all.

Crisp
This means Crisp is most likely gonna be traded in July. He’s the oldest and highest paid, and has trade value.
he'll need to play regularly to establish that trade value
reportedly only the Rays and A’s had an interest in him as a free agent…
Why are you listening to KNBR?
Seriously, you need to break it off and support 95.7 the Game, the A’s station. Every time you tune into KNBR a dog mauls a kitten

I have been having problems getting 95.7 to play online lately
I was sure surprised to hear A’s talk in knbr.

And this is bad, how?
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal
One of these days Cuba is going to launch a covert Seal Team 6 type mission
and take back all their awesome ball players, mark my words.
