Hows it going AN! First post here, been a reader for years, and would just like to throw out a realistic scenario for the off season that myself and my pals have discussed. As I know their will be feed back, I will take the good and the bad, but would just love to hear what you guys possibly think.
First I look at the Reds need for a lead off CF, and of course our need for a SS. As has been discussed on here, I propose we send Coco to Cincy for Cozart. I am not 100% sure as to how everyone else views Cozart and if we would need to send another lower level prospect, or even for the A's to get one in the deal along with Cozart. This would free up CF for Young full time.
By looking at our current players and who is suspected to be in the starting lineup, I can see a hole when it comes to a big lefty bat. During the winter meetings I keep hearing of Adam Laroche not getting a 3 year offer from anyone, and at most only receiving 2 year offers. Again, not sure of the exact range that everyone else is thinking it would take to land Laroche, but myself and my pals threw out 3 years 33 million. Obviously Laroche would be penciled in at first base, leaving DH open for a Carter and Moss platoon which worked so well last year, just without the possibility of weak defense.
With these two additions, we would not have to give up any of our current pitching in the bigs, and I feel with these moves, would upgrade the team.
