Per ESPN: Drew signs 1 year deal with Boston that will pay him $9.5 million for the year with an added $500,000 in performance bonuses. Hmm, that's $10 million just like the mutual option that Drew and the A's had before they were mutually declined.

I don't know what the A's were offering, but this contract certainly wasn't out of line and surely would not have busted their budget. We don't seem to be keeping the 2012 team together very well now.
