6 man rotation?

I don't think anybody can argue, the starting pitching is the strength of this team. Lets take a moment to examine these studs that keep us in pretty much every game. Assuming we re-sign mr. mccarthy that gives us Anderson, coming off significant injuries, Mccarthy, coming off serious injury and also injury prone, Colon, and old-timer and a relatively unknown commodity with his newly lowered testosterone levels, and a handful of newbs in parker milone griffin blackley and straily, all of who's innings were closely monitored last season and will be this season as well. My point is, what's to lose with a 6 man rotation? each of your pitchers will get an extra day's rest helping them recover from minor ailments or soreness, the total number of innings pitched will be lower for all so pitchers will have less wear and tear and will also be fresher down the stretch. If (when) a pitcher goes down you have a choice, bring up someone from AAA to keep that 6 man rotation or if its a minor injury you could just drop down to a 5 man rotation for a week or two no problem. I feel like with so many injury prone and young pitchers, the little extra relief could keep people on the field more consistantly and the benefit of fresher arms down the stretch cannot in my humble opinion be overstated. I feel like a rotation of Anderson Mccarthy Parker Colon Milone Griffin has no weaknesses in it. I feel like many if not most of the other teams in baseball would take any of those 6 pitchers and could slot them in comfortably as a #3 starter or higher and we've got 6 of them to say nothing of straily peacock ross and grey hanging out in AAA. I like blackley in the bullpen, somebody here on AN (nico maybe?) wrote a well thought out post demonstrating what a valuable commodity travis is in the 'pen and i couldn't agree more. should one of our stellar starters stumble we have a more than capable replacement ready to step in. My last reasoning for wanting a 6 man rotation is like I said earlier starting pitching is the obvious strength of this ballclub, why not put your best foot forward? We should utilize the best tools we have and those are our starting pitchers. on a very slightly related note i vote we trade tyson ross to someone if they'll stock our soda machine for a week...
