Bob Melvin has won the AL Manager of the Year award.

There is really nothing else to say but this: no one accomplished more with what he was given than Melvin. Sure, Showalter and his Orioles came out of nowhere to give the Yankees a run for the AL East crown and an ALCS berth.

However, not only did Melvin equal that in the West, he also took the division from Texas and did so with a roster that had 17 rookies and 5 of those as starters down the stretch. Finally, he did all this with the A's having the lowest expectations of any team in baseball.

From all of Athletics Nation, congratulations to Bob Melvin and his coaching staff. Feel free to add to the love below :-)
