So what players of importance do we have to add to the 40 man to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft this year?

Criteria for Rule 5 players.

Players are eligible for selection in the Rule 5 draft who are not on their major league organization's 40-man roster and:

– were signed at age 19 or older and have been in the organization for four years; or

– were signed at age 18 or younger and have been in the organization for five years.

Having found a few lists of other teams, it seems like a lot of players from the 09 draft are eligible this year.

Now assuming the majority of 09 draftees are eligible, these are the players that would be of concern.

Grant Green

Max Stassi - Though since he was a High School draft pick, probably not be eligible until next year.

Stephen Parker
