For those of you who don't remember me, my name is Ken (oaklandSMASH) and I used to post here a lot. Though I haven't been here for a long time, I haven't stopped being an A's fan.

If you are like me then you have appreciated how much this A's team has meant to you as a fan, and you are bummed that it is all over. Because of this, I was looking for a way to manifest this love for the nobodies that became somebodies, proving the world wrong.

It'll take a few minutes of your time, but I think it will make a huge impact on our A's.

The idea is called Project Athletics 12. What I am proposing is that the fans of the Oakland Athletics take time this Saturday October 20, 2012 to write a real letter to one of the members of the A's and include a picture of yourself in A's gear so they know how special it all has been.

This is the Project Athletics 12 thAnk you day.

This year we proved that Oakland is a place where people want to play and where the fans love their team. It is my hope that the front offices of the Athletics are flooded with fan mail as if it were the climax of Miracle on 34th Street.

You could join us on facebook but it isn't necessary. Just send a letter and a picture to a player, Billy Beane, Bob Melvin, or any other Athletic that has helped us make this season great.

If you feel the same way I do, then I I encourage you to do this:

1. Write to the Oakland A's and its players. I could be to Billy Beane, Bob Melvin, the whole organization, or even individual players. And send a picture of yourself from this season so they know the real impact they have made.

2. Post your memories of this season on this group. Maybe we can keep the magic going through the winter and perhaps the A's will remember what they mean to us.
