With Jeter's career most likely over at shortstop after yesterday's horrific injury, expect to see Stephen Drew in pinstripes next season in a long term lucrative contract deal. He is probably the best of the free ahent shortstop crop out there. The Yankees will definitely be looking to upgrade the position over what they currently have. I expect to see Pennington and Weeks back at shortsop and second base respectively. Brings back memories of the Yankees pillaging Jason Giambi. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.......and then there is Oakland. What an amazing accomplishment this season was considering what they had to start with. As a longtime A's fan, I took more pride in this division championship than any of the others. For the A's, winning a division is a great accomplishment and anything more is gravy. Given the economics of the team that is the way it will always be barring a major miracle, which is what this season came close to being. Congrats to the organization on a great year.
