Mariners pry Montero from Yankees in exchange for Pineda
Yanks have resisted many offers for Montero. But they've finally agreed to let him go, to the Mariners for Michael Pineda. Two other players are in the deal, one from each team.

Doooh!
Have to re-visit the M’s roster now. Appears to tilt balance in the great race for 3rd place…
apparently Montero nearly became a Mariner in 2010
The Yanks were set to send him to Seattle in exchange for Cliff Lee, but the Mariners pulled out at the last minute and sent Lee to the Rangers.
As someone who's been fairly vocal about my lack of faith in Montero
Seattle just got f*ckin’ hosed.
My thoughts as well.
What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. If you just understood baseball better all your other questions your, your... the, uh... the aliens, the conspiracies they would all, in their way be answered by the baseball gods.
And now four.
Pineda looks like he’s going to be a monster. If I’m trading someone like that for a position player, then they better have a position.
I fart in your general direction.

Who do you think won the trade?

at the moment I'm thinking the Yanks did
however, I’m still on the fence about Montero. I don’t believe he’ll stick at catcher, so if he needs to be a dh/1b what about Justin Smoak? He hasn’t had enough at bats in MLB to really say much, although he looked good in limited at bats. I kind of wait until a player has had to go through the league and has to adjust to other teams’ adjustment to him.
