Grant Balfour: I am a strong and talented person, capable of success and worthy of love. I am a strong and talented person, capable of success and worthy of love. I am a strong and capable...
In a game that meant absolutely nothing, and the stakes so low, that another win or loss would mean even less, the A's dug deep and pulled out a victory.
Not just any victory, but one for the final jhome game of the season, rewarding the Coliseum faithful (I'm looking at you, Bryan) for showing up this season.
A's win, 4-3, defeating Texas and sending them home with their tail between their legs. See? They are evil: they have tails. You know who else has a tail? Satan. True story.
So, before the game, Ken Korach and Vince Cotroneo talking. Vince says this is the day that Jemile Weeks goes deep. KK sez you going on the record with that? Vince says yes. Jemile homers in the sixth. Vince has got to be using some sort of voodoo powers, right? Communing with the dead, maybe? Either way, creepy, and Bloom wants no part of it. You go somewheres else with your witchy evil powers, Vince!
In fact, the game could reasonably be call the Jemile Show, as he went 3 for 3, scoring three of the A's four runs. This season, while not successful on many levels, has at very least produced a legitimate lead-off hitter. And it's reinforced AN's love of tailgates, especially those involving tacos.
I'll just go ahead and say it: if you missed our Taco Tailgate on Tuesday, and you're not an NRAF, a shut-in, agoraphobic or in an iron lung, you should probably just start rooting for the Angels, because you suck as a human being, and God hates you. If, on the other hand, you were there, reveled gloriously in all the taco splendor, going so far as to spread guacamole love deep within your pants and take bids on who could lick it off (AV), you probably still are having Jesus coming down from heaven, handing you large stack of crisp $100 bills, mainly because you're just so damn cool.
So, yeah...there was a game and we won and it was exciting. I had a job today, painting. I am painting a house. I had two job interviews today. And...I was hired today. I have a job. I am employed. THERE'S A FIRE....sale! I am an actor.
So, there you go. There's the game in a nut shell. And I'm not telling anyone how I got it inside that nut to begin with, so there.
