I live in Dallas and was lucky enough to see Moneyball last Wednesday night. All I can say is after almost waling out in the first 30 seconds, I almost cried in the middle.
A quick review:
It was really good. I thought it was funny and entertaining for the baseball fan and non baseball fan alike. They explained the sabermetrics well enough for everyone to understand them.
If you're a fan of the book and are looking for the book on the screen you'll be disappointed. They barely even mention the draft.
You can read my whole review here on the Music Station website I run here in Dallas.
On some points not on in the review:
I almost walked out in the first 30 seconds when they start with the end to the 2001 playoffs. (No they don't show anything Jeter did that might really make A's fans angry)
When you hear the great voice of Bill King, i dare you to not think it just got a little dusty in the theater. Go see the movie. It was done really well. they paid attention to detail and did a good job I think of portraying the organization.
It's always good to relive the best consecutive 26 days (i think that was the overall span) of my life.
