thats a shame
many MLB managers also like to pitch their best relievers with 3 run leads, and that isnt wise either
"BA doesn't stand for Batting Average. It’s Brandon Allen, as in the percentage of a hitter’s worth compared to Brandon Allen. Ted Williams, at his best, was only 4/10th of the hitter Brandon Allen is today." - YonYonson
wouldn't you want your best reliever pitching with no margin for error
then a lesser reliever pitching with some margin for error?
"BA doesn't stand for Batting Average. It’s Brandon Allen, as in the percentage of a hitter’s worth compared to Brandon Allen. Ted Williams, at his best, was only 4/10th of the hitter Brandon Allen is today." - YonYonson
There's only some margin for error if your team scores in the top of the next inning.
Otherwise, you’re in the exact same situation, except without your best reliever.
"I'm not a peep; I'm a Cadbury egg." --Gaijin_Suketto
yes
wouldn’t you want to increase your chances of getting to that situation? because if the opposing team scores in the bottom of the 9th then there’s no chance at all of scoring at the top of the next inning
"BA doesn't stand for Batting Average. It’s Brandon Allen, as in the percentage of a hitter’s worth compared to Brandon Allen. Ted Williams, at his best, was only 4/10th of the hitter Brandon Allen is today." - YonYonson
SEE? Now that we have the lead, Bailey can clean it up!
"I'm not a peep; I'm a Cadbury egg." --Gaijin_Suketto
you dont get it
but it’s a moot point anyway since FDLS got the job done.
"BA doesn't stand for Batting Average. It’s Brandon Allen, as in the percentage of a hitter’s worth compared to Brandon Allen. Ted Williams, at his best, was only 4/10th of the hitter Brandon Allen is today." - YonYonson
Actually, I understand your point completely...
I just disagree with it. That’s all. No biggie.
"I'm not a peep; I'm a Cadbury egg." --Gaijin_Suketto
yeah and i dont understand why
if youre in a situation where giving up one run will cost you the game, you want the reliever least likely to give up one run
"BA doesn't stand for Batting Average. It’s Brandon Allen, as in the percentage of a hitter’s worth compared to Brandon Allen. Ted Williams, at his best, was only 4/10th of the hitter Brandon Allen is today." - YonYonson
