I don't know about the rest of you guys, but even after all those years away from Oakland, I've always felt that Stairs was a "former A." He certainly had his best years with the A's. And had he put up his 97-2000 numbers today, he might've done much better than the 17th place in the MVP voting in 99. Of course we don't know if he was clean, but at least he hasn't been linked to the controversy (or has he? somebody plz correct me if I'm wrong). 

Either way, felt like Stairs' retirement is a cause for attention from us the A's fans.
