Where were you when you heard about/saw/read about the three history making grand slams?
I believe if you feel verklempt (sic) mad, embarassed about something you meet it, greet it and defeat it. My way is to talk about it. I was at work, a very busy day, knew there was a rain delay. checked in on the score from time to time. Went to a meeting confident of the A's sweep cuz the score was 7-2 A's. Did a desultory check on ESPN at 4:00 and thankfully I had not taken a sip of the coffee in my hand. Unfreaking believable. Have not been able to read the wrap up just yet as I need time to decompress. I don't know whether to congratulate the Yankees or curse them. Maybe I'll just curse Bud Selig for this and a myriad of other reasons.

I was too busy at work to listen to much of the game
Thank goodness.
I’m glad the A’s won the series (remember?) and I hope the relievers recover so they can pitch like major leaguers in Boston.

I got in my truck to head home from work at 4 PM
and was like “must be extra innings, game started at 10 AM”. Then I heard the score and turned off the radio and wept. Still can’t believe the Yankees left 29 runners on base and scored 22.
MexicAN AmericAN VegAN
They left 12 on as a team
It’s impossible to leave 29 on base in a 9-inning game. Well, 8 for them. Leaving the bases loaded in each inning for them would equal 24.
You’re looking at the added total of each hitter’s LOB. If Jeter and Granderson both made outs with the bases loaded, they’d have 3 added to their total. If the next guy hit a slam and the inning ended after that, the team LOB is 0.

I was on the phone with my coworker talking about the game
I just laughed when the third slam was hit. I laughed more because the Yankees had chances to hit slams in four straight innings.

It's a bit frustrating
One half of the year we have a top 5 pitching staff and a little league offense and now that the offense is anywhere close to resembling major league production our pitching tanks.

true story
I was in Ghana watching the game on Gameday, suffering through the game much longer than I normally would because I relish the opportunity to check in on day games while so far away from home, where many people have never even heard of baseball.
The next morning I heard my landlord listening to BBC World Service on the radio and they updated me on current breaking news:
Terror Attacks in Nigeria
Hurricane Irene Strikes the Earthquake Rattled United States
Yankees Defeat Athletics with Three Grand Slams
Sometimes I hate the world.
Lol!!!! I know it's not funn, but still.......

I was at work
and once I heard, I didn’t really care to be honest. It was nice, but I don’t consider it earth shattering like ESPN wanted to make it out to be. and yes, if the A’s did the same thing, I would say the same thing as well.
and the A’s won the series, which is all I wanted.

If I am in fact acknowledging that the alleged third game in that series in the Bronx happened...
Then it is not the three slams that I am most angry about. It was all the free passes that A’s pitchers handed out. The best part? Jeter was 1-4 in bases loaded situations. You know, if the game ever happened at all, that is.

I was watching it live via MLB.TV
At first I wished I hadn’t been, but by the end it had just become funny and I got a good laugh out of it.
