missing ellis' defense
i have to say, i really took mark ellis' defense for granted. No doubt jemile weeks is an exciting player to watch, but 11 errors in 2 and a half months..... thats not helping. Ellis has had 10 total errors since 2009. I dont mean to compare their full impact on a game but seeing those numbers really makes me appreciate what a great job mark did and how i hope jemile can one day be as efficient a defensive player.. hey elly had 9 errors his rookie year and 14 his sophomore year.. and he turned out pretty good. i truly hope the team can turn around their poor defense... because it has been offensive to watch.

A Lot Of People Miss Ellis' D
But they’re fine with Weeks because the A’s get a lot more offense in the form of an exciting and fast player.
A lot of people also forget, Ellis made 10 errors in less than 100 games his rookie year, and he was
26 years old his first year with the A’s

yeah i noticed the errors early on
i just hope that jemile can progress at an even close rate the mark did.. if we could knock it down to 5-10 errors a season… with his bat… we got a highly more valuable player.. i hate seeing us giving up runs on errors.. its a killer…
the A's infield defense has been terrible all season long
having Ellis here didn’t really change that, unfortunately.
I’m fine with Jemile’s promotion. He is far from the worst defensive infielder on the current team.
I don't mind the bad defense
on most days it just takes the expectation of a win out of the picture early so I can actually enjoy watching the A’s play, at least their hitting isn’t sucking as much wind as before.

Do not miss the awful bat that he possessed
Defense was great.
i miss mark. he is one of the good guys.
i hope he does well in CO.
Mark Ellis has a career wRC+ of 97
I wouldn’t say his bat was exactly awful. And his defense when he was young was fantastic despite the (still not so many) errors, especially before Crosby the dynasty-killer robbed him of his arm strength. Chase Utley makes 12-15 errors a year, and he’s a great defensive 2Bman.
